A modern take on a Baby Book

I had every intention of doing baby books for the girls. I even had one picked out that I liked on Etsy. But when I realized there was only one available and would have to order a second one, the magnitude of keeping up two baby books hit me. So I’ve decided to keep this blog as a digital baby book (and will even contemplate having it printed and bound for posterity). That said, I don’t want to miss out on some of the traditional entries that make baby books so much fun. I still perk up every time I hear “I Can See Clearly Now” because that was apparently “the” song on my birthdate in 1972. That said, here we go:

In 2010:

-Eminem’s album ‘Recovery’ was number one on Billboard.com on September 10th.

-Barack Obama was president. Joe Biden was his VP.

– ‘Up’ won the Oscar for best animated film. ‘The Hurt Locker’ won for best film, and its director Kathryn Bigelow was the first woman to win an Academy Award for Best Director.

– On TV, ‘Modern Family’ was voted the funniest show, and ‘Mad Men’ won for drama. ‘Glee’ was a favorite in our house!

-The New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl, and the San Francisco Giants won the World Series. (Better luck to the Ravens and the Cardinals next year!)

-The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, opened in January. It is 2,717 feet tall and for now is the tallest man-made structure ever built.

-The Deepwater Horizon oil spill, one of the largest in history, spread for several months in the Gulf of Mexico.

-The International Space Station surpassed the record for the longest continuous human occupation of space (3,641 days)

-Marlowe Wilson and Brigid Lonergan were born on Friday, September 10th in Boca Raton, Florida!
